Poland has submitted to the European Comission a preliminary version of the update of the “National Energy and Climate Plan until 2030”.This working document assumes increasing the share of renewable energy in final gross energy consumption to 29.8%. by 2030. According to the initial assumptions, in the 2030 perspective, onshore wind (with an installed capacity of approx. 15.8 GW) and solar power plants (approx.  29.3 GW).

Due to the delay in work on the document, the European Commission launched an infringement procedure against Poland. Submitting the draft was necessary to complete the procedure for Poland. The final and binding document will be presented for full public consultations and sectoral arrangements and then finalized at the turn of the second and third quarter of 2024, according to the Government.
