SolarPower Europe presented the new edition of the Global Market Outlook for Solar Power report. It shows that solar energy maintains a strong upward trend – global solar power in April 2022 reached 1 TW and in the next 3 years it will more than double, to 2.3 TW in 2025. The Polish market is among the top ten countries that recorded the largest increase in photovoltaic capacity.
Solar PV remains the fastest-growing renewable energy, accounting for more than half of the 302 GW of renewable capacity installed globally in 2021: PV 168 GW, wind 93 GW, hydro 25 GW, biomass 10 GW and other 6 GW.
China remains the world leader in new capacity growth, with a record 54.9 GW of added PV capacity in 2021. The US came second with 27.3 GW, followed by India with 14.2 GW at the end of 2021 new capacity in solar energy. Poland closes the top ten of the fastest growing markets with 3.8 GW of new photovoltaic capacity installed.
